New conference showcases the best in exploration and mining

THE Excellence in Exploration and Mining 2005 conference will be held on October 17-18 at the Sof...

EEM 2005 succeeds and incorporates the NSW Explorers' and Miners' Conference and expands on that event by bringing a global perspective to the mining industry in Sydney, Australia’s largest financial centre.

The conference will mix industry views and trends. Its program includes more than 40 presentations, 30 exhibitors, an awards cocktail reception and events for students and investors. The program has been put together by the editorial committee from the Mining Journal.

The event has been organised by Mining Events Pty Ltd a joint venture between MiningNews.net and Australia’s Mining Monthly (owned by Aspermont Limited) and Mining Magazine and Mining Journal (owned by Mining Communications Limited). It is being marketed worldwide in over 50 countries and is supported by the Sydney Mining Club.

Several government delegations from Asia have been invited to make presentations and attend. The main event sponsor is Martin Place Securities. Other confirmed sponsors include Intierra, the ASX and Rio Tinto.

There will be over 30 corporate presentations from the cream of Australian mining, including: Kingsgate Consolidated, one of the most successful miners in South East Asia; Sino Gold, a pioneer in China and now in gold production; Consolidated Minerals, one of Australia’s most successful mining companies; CBH Resources, one of NSW’s fastest growing mining companies; Bolnisi Gold mining in Georgia and exploring in Mexico with favourable drilling results; Allegiance Mining in Tasmania which is developing the state's first nickel mine for 20 years; and Teythan which is developing the largest copper/gold deposit with BHP Billiton in Pakistan.

There will also be presentations from Oceana Gold; Alkane Exploration; Vulcan Resources; Malachite Resources; Anvil Mining; BMA Gold and Republic Gold

EEM 2005 looks to bring miners to money, and investors and bankers to mining in an environment where all groups can network and understand the market both in Australia and abroad, according to chairman of the conference organising committee and Mining Communications director Chris Innis.

“Australian miners and mining companies are some of the best in the world and pioneers in mining exploration, mine development and mining technology,” Innis said.

“EEM 2005 seeks to bring investors closer to a great Australian suceess story and a business that defines and celebrates Australia’s wealth and rich past.

"EEM 2005 is about mining and money. If you are an explorer or miner be there, if you are an investor this is the place to learn more and benefit from mining’s growing impact on Australia’s wealth.”

Australia is the leader in many areas of mining, said Aspermont Ltd chairman Andrew Kent.

“EEM 2005 brings Australian mining and its investment community together in Australia’s largest financial capital,” Kent said.

“EMM 2005 will bring together the excellence Australia brings to the sector and, with an expected 400 attendees and events for miners, employers and investors, this is the beginning of a major mining event on the east coast. This event is being marketed globally. It is about great companies doing great things around the world.”
