In Queensland InterGen holds a 50% stake in the Callide C station and 54% of the Millmerran station, two of Queensland's largest coal-fired power facilities, with both falling under the umbrella holding company OzGen.

Shell has made no official announcement concerning the sale although it is thought to be part of the petroleum giants global restructure which saw US$4.5 billion of projects offloaded last year with another US$3.5 earmarked for this financial year.

Callide C was commissioned in July 2001 and is a 900-megawatt facility powered by black coal with partner CS Energy holding pre-emptive rights to buy the remaining share in the event of a sale.
