Enertrade receives first Moranbah gas

The project is the first significant commercial development for CH4 and holds a 15 year contract to supply up to 290 PJ of Coal bed methane gas to Enertrade, a Queensland Government power corporation.

First gas was supplied to the Moranbah gas processing plant on September 1st and was subsequently introduced into the Moranbah to Townsville Pipeline a week later. The commissioning process will continue during the period until February 2005 when contract sales are scheduled to commence.

“This represents yet another significant and important milestone for CH4, for the Moranbah Gas Project, and for the coal seam gas sector as a whole. This represents the culmination of much hard work on the part of our employees, contractors, and alliance partners,” said CH4 chief executive officer Louis Rozman.
