2004 SPE Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition

The conference will be opened by the Premier of WA Dr Geoff Gallop, together with ChevronTexaco Australia’s Colin Beckett and BP Group’s Kate Baker (SPE’s Conference Chairman and President, respectively) and will see 80 or more technical papers being presented and two panel sessions being conducted on the theme of this year’s event.

Keynote speakers at APOGCE 2004 will include APPEA Executive Director Barry Jones, Petronas Vice President E&P Business Dato’ Shamsul Azhar Abbas, Oil Search MD Peter Botten and ChevronTexaco Australia MD James Johnson amongst others, who will discuss topics as diverse as Integrated Waterflood Asset Management, Deepwater Technology, Enhanced Oil Recovery, Reservoir Considerations for Horizontal and Multilateral Wells, Hydrocarbon Portfolio Analysis and Optimisation, and Subsea, amongst others.

The SPE will also take the opportunity to present the 2003 SPE Asia Pacific Regional Service Award at APOGCE 2004 to Petronas Carigali MD/CEO Mohamad Johari Dasri, Expro Group Sales and Marketing Manager Steven Broadmeadow, BHP Billiton Petroleum Advisor Reservoir Engineering Graham F. Bunn, Chairman of the Beijing Section of SPE Shen Pingping, Teikoku Oil Co GM Technical Planning Department Hideaki Takeda, and Santos Senior Staff Petroleum Engineer Tom Paspaliaris.

The technical exhibition at APOGCE 2004 will provide an international cross section of service and supply firms, opportunities to see the latest technologies and provide the venue for making new contacts. Already confirmed for the exhibition includes the likes of Advanced Well Technologies, Baker Hughes Inc, Geomechanics International , Halliburton Australia, Kappa, Peak Group Asia Pacific, Reeves Wireline Services (Australia), Schlumberger Oilfield Australia, Terralog Technologies, Weatherford Australia and Wireline Engineering.
