Fuel rebound in Asia Pacific

This is a good sign according to Platts, as demand growth projections by the International Energy Agency, OPEC and the US Energy Information Administration suggest 1.16 million barrels per day being added to 2015 global consumption.

However, LNG consumption by the top four has increased due to both increasing population and Chinese efforts to up its propane dehydrogenation capacity in its petrochemicals sector.

Attractive margins and strong demand drove up naphtha consumption, while gasoline growth surged on the back on increased car purchases from middle class consumers in China and India.

Domestic air travel remains a buoyant sector, jet fuel demands remain high as the International Air Transport Association suggests an 8.1% increase in passengers flying in the Asia
