The news emerged from a presentation made to analysts by Sevan director Carl Lieungh in Norway last week.
"The company collaborates with one of the major Korean shipyards on the development of the concept, according to the presentation," the TU Petroleum website reported.
Sevan's FLNG concept vessel is reportedly targeting 2.5 million tonnes per annum of production capacity.
The FLNG research effort was also mentioned in Sevan's interim first-half report last week.
"FLNG is probably one of the fastest growing markets and Sevan has positioned itself within this segment by developing a concept based on proprietary technology," Sevan said.
"It has been well received by several potential clients and it is expected that paid studies will be carried out in the near/medium term to develop the concept further."
