Malaysia Shipping to target deepwater and LNG tanker sectors

According to Wan Yusoff, “MSE will become a one-stop solution centre in areas such as LNG carrier repair, large crude carriers, tanker repairs and various kinds of floaters as well as deepwater development facilities for the oil and gas sector.

“In order to achieve our goal, we engaged the expertise of the Gaz Transport Technigaz (GTT), which is the maker of the membrane containment system to enhance our capabilities and expertise in repair of LNG carriers,”

“With the yard, MSE will be able to demonstrate its ability to innovate, reposition and transform itself to cater to the specialised niche market. We have invested a substantial amount to build up our LNG repair capabilities and facilities in order to provide world-class services to our clients.

“[We] will also focus on supporting both upstream oil and gas projects, and downstream repair and maintenance projects. This is in addition to our traditional businesses of ship-repairing, conversions and ship maintenance,” he added.
