In a statement the company said, “The expansion is part of a strategic cooperation agreement signed last week with China Petroleum & Chemical Corp (Sinopec).”
“[Under] the agreement, COSCO will provide crude oil transport services to Sinopec at preferential rates,” added the shipping giant without providing additional details.
