The venue will be KL’s brand new Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre at the base of the Petronas Twin Towers; AOGC 2005 will run from 12-14 June, while OGA 2005 will last from 13-16 June.

Petronas is the organiser of AOGC 2005 while OGA 2005 is organised by Malaysian Exhibition Services Sdn Bhd (MES).

AOGC 2005, OGA 2005 and the opening of the KLCC are expected to be officiated by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on 13th June 2005. MES have a successful track record in organizing a series of nine oil and gas exhibitions in Malaysia since 1987, and have received the full support from PETRONAS in organizing OGA 2005.

According to MES Senior Project Manager, Nadzeem Abd Rahman, OGA 2005 will be a bigger and better show than ever before, with the participation of more than 600 companies from 40 countries. Nadzeem went on to say that the previous OGA exhibition held in 2003 attracted a total of 506 companies from 30 countries, including five country groups from Australia, Italy, Norway, United Kingdom and United States of America.

Apart from PETRONAS, the event has to date attracted strong support from major international industry players and other foreign national oil corporations including Perusahaan Pertambangan Minyak dan Gas Bumi Negara (PERTAMINA), Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC), Petro Brunei and PETROVietnam. Major industry players include Schlumberger, ExxonMobil, Shell, UMW and Halliburton.

Nadzeem said the four-day OGA 2005 exhibition would occupy all four main exhibition halls at the ground level of the KLCC, a total exhibition area of 10,000 sq metres.

"OGA 2005 is an excellent platform for those in the industry to review the latest available technologies. It enables both exhibitors and trade visitors to network and to explore opportunities for the enhancement of businesses prospects."

"Having successfully taken OGA 2003 to a higher level by making it a regional event, we are confident that OGA 2005 will scale even greater heights and achieve its objective, to become the foremost petroleum exhibition in the Asian region," added Nadzeem.

OGA 2005 is also fully supported by the Government of Malaysia, SIRIM and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
