Asia Oil and Gas Conference opens in KL next week

The ninth annual Asian Oil and Gas Conference (AOGC 2004) will be held at the Mandarin Hotel Kuala Lumpur from 13-15 June. Close to 50 international oil and gas industry experts are expected to discuss the theme Asia Oil and Gas: Rising to New Challenges with more than 800 conference delegates.

Amongst the keynote speakers are OPEC President Purnomo Yusgiantoro, former UK Special Representative to Iraq Sir Jeremy Greenstock and Chairman and CEO of ChevronTexaco David J. O’Reilly. Also delivering a keynote address will be Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Other speakers include FACTS Inc President Fereidun Fesheraki, Saudi Aramco Senior Vice President Abdulaziz F al-Khayyal, Pertamina President and CEO Ariffi Nawawi, PTT President Prasert Bunsumpun, KOGAS Chairman/President and CEO Oh Kang-Hyun and Morgan Stanley MD Thomas R. Langford.

Topics under discussion will include world oil demand and long-term implications on reserves, investments and market stability; the Iraq Post-Saddam issue; opportunities for bridging the gap between East and West economies and the developments in global geo-political scenarios and their implications on Asia’s oil and gas sector.

The event, Asia’s premier oil and gas gathering has strong support from the likes of ChevronTexaco, ExxonMobil, Royal Dutch/Shell, ConocoPhillips, Mitsubishi Corp, Murphy Oil Corp and Talisman.
