Explosions damage gas supply to Karachi, areas of Punjab

Two large explosions at gas pipelines in Dadu district have caused the suspension of Sui gas supply to Karachi and parts of the Pakistani side of Punjab.

Initial reports said ground zero is where the pipelines pass closest to the Seeta Road in the district and that the pipelines are badly damaged.

According to district administration officials, “The damaged pipelines [have] left the smooth supply of Sui gas to Karachi and Punjab suspended.”

Gas supply remains suspended, although emergency rescue work has been initiated to facilitate the quick resumption of the supply line at the earliest possible juncture.
