Possibly the first job out for bid is BP's APN field. The expected scope is for three minimal facility wellhead platforms (monopod style) at around 275 tonnes each plus three 24 inch intra-platform pipelines about 28km each in length. There is also a 50km 24 inch export pipeline. First production is expected in 2004.
Ceria Worley has been doing the FEED studies with the expected bidders being Horizon Offshore, Nippon Steel who are front runners for another of BP's projects, Kepodang, and Petrosea Clough.
Premier Oil is looking at upgrading its Natuna Sea platform, installing new power generation capacity and removing two old flares. It is looking to have the project completed at the end of 2004.
The second phase of the deepwater West Seno project is looking to be a sizable undertaking for operator Unocal with initial development plans including a tension leg platform, a floating production unit and associated pipelines. Talk has Unocal issuing an EPC contract some time in the second half of this year.
