“SEAAOC is one of our flagship events and this one is truly special, coming hot on the heels of the APEC Energy Ministers meeting,” IIR conference manager Richard Beattie said.
“Following Dr Jose Ramos-Horta’s presidential victory in East Timor’s elections and the recent Australia-East Timor agreement to share maritime oil revenues, interest in the event has clearly been heightened.”
Ramos-Horta will be one of the keynote speakers for SEAAOC, along with Northern Territory Chief Minister Clare Martin and Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association chief executive Belinda Robinson.
“Delegates will have an opportunity to hear first-hand from the big players such as ConocoPhillips and Eni, and hear how oil and gas exploration, extraction and processing will bring wealth to the region,” Beattie said.
IIR Conferences is part of a group that annually holds 200 conferences in Australia and more than 10,000 in 70 other countries.
SEAAOC 2007 will be held at the Holiday Inn Esplanade.
