Green light for Vic wind farm

PACIFIC Hydro has been given the go-ahead by the Victorian Government for the third stage of the Portland Wind Energy Project in western Victoria.

Planning Minister Justin Madden has signed off on the third stage, which includes the construction of 22 generators to deliver 44MW to the state's electricity grid.

Stage one of the project at Yambuk has been completed and construction is well underway on stage two at Cape Bridgewater.

The $330 million, four-site project will have the capacity to add up to 195MW to Victoria's electricity grid.
