Renewable energy use grows in Victoria

‘GreenPower’ is the name given for clean, renewable energy produced from sources such as solar, wind, water and biomass.

There are now 252,000 Victorian households and businesses using GreenPower.

Some 9000 of these customers are businesses, which is double the figure on the same time last year.

The latest figures also indicate almost 40% of Australia's residential GreenPower users are Victorians.

There are 43 accredited GreenPower generators in Victoria, including bioenergy, wind, solar and hydro power stations.
