The three assets in Norfolk, England, have 7MW generating capacity, including 2MW to be constructed, and have an expected generating life of more than 20 years, Novera said.

NMRE – the 50-50 joint venture between Novera Energy Ltd and Macquarie International Infrastructure Fund – is acquiring 100% of the share capital from its current owners.

Each joint venture partner has made a £2 million ($A4.7 million) cash investment to fund the acquisition. The remaining balance will be funded by non-recourse debt under an existing loan extension through Barclays.

NMRE CEO Muir Miller said that including the new assets, the company held 144MW of capacity across its landfill gas power, wind power and hydro facilities.

“This transaction further strengthens NMRE’s position as the United Kingdom’s second largest landfill gas power generator,” Miller said.
