The project, to be built by Guohua Energy Investment Company at Huanghua Port in Cangzhou City, will begin in the next few months.

The first phase and will see a plant installed with an initial capacity of 50,000kW for around 500 million yuan.

The decision to go ahead with the project has come after four months of successful wind power tests in the Cangzhou region, with results convincing Guohua the area would be ideal for maximum power generation.

The project is expected to be fully complete by 2020 and the Chinese Administration believes it will go a long way towards addressing chronic power shortages in northern China.
