The event is being held to provide information on the transition to sustainable energy systems and on the strategic directions in energy transport policy. It will also include trials and demonstrations of hydrogen and fuel cell vehicles like the F-Cell, which is based on the Mercedes Benz A-Class.

The keynote speaker at the event will be M. Claude Mandil, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), who will touch on world energy demand and supply trends, the global mix of energy sources and the place hydrogen fuel may have in meeting those needs, amongst other things.

Amongst other leading experts who will be making presentations and demonstrations will be Dr Manfred Schuckert (DaimlerChrysler), Simon Whitehouse (Western Australian Department for Planning and Infrastructure), Eva Sunnerstedt (Stockholm Fuel Cell Bus Project), Jonas Bereisa (General Motors), Dr Marcio Schettino (Sao Paulo State Bus Authority) and Jon-Bjorn Skulason (Icelandic New Energy).
