Emission results for Whytes Gully SWERF

Environmental assessment of the toxic emissions from Energy Development's Whytes Gully Solid Wast...

"We are pleased with the overall results of the emissions testing. Many of the results were a small percentage of the Whytes Gully EPA licence requirements," Brightstar's CEO Mr Bill Lazarus said. "In particular, the very low level of dioxins, furans and benzene recorded in the results again validate our extensive test data and in line with our expectations."

Mr Lazarus said eighty three compounds were tested and results were generally consistent with previous testing with the exception of arsenic. The concentration of arsenic was slightly in excess of the licence level (0.008mg/Nm(3), "However, the mass emitted was well under the licence level (0.68kg/yr) due to the plant operating conditions," he said.
