On the shale gas bandwagon

BHP Billiton Petroleum (BHPP) has paid $1.77 per thousand cubic feet for proven and probable (2P) reserves of shale gas in the Fayetteville field, paying $4250 million for 2.4 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of 2P gas reserves and 10Tcf of contingent (3C) resources, plus $500 million for midstream assets, which we assume are gas gathering, compression and processing facilities. - <b>By Peter Strachan</b>
