Personnel movements for the week ending June 6

SAPEX: Outback explorer Sapex has appointed Jagathas Paran as its exploration manager.

Paran has 27 years experience as a petroleum geologist, including previous long-term positions with South Australian Oil & Gas Corporation (SAOGC), SAGASCO and Boral Energy in Australia.

He has also worked extensively in operational and staff positions in Malaysia with Petronas, Talisman Malaysia and Carigali Shell Mutiara Petroleum.

He holds BSc (hons) and MSc degrees. Paran is a former president of PESA-SA branch.

QUEENSLAND GAS COMPANY: Chairman Bob Bryan and managing director Richard Cottee welcomed the appointment of Mark Anning as the new company secretary.

Anning has been appointed by the QGC board to the position of company secretary, taking over from QGC's general counsel, Andrew Varvari, who has been acting in the role of company secretary since late February, 2008.

"The appointment of Anning will give Varvari more time as general counsel to further focus the company's excellent legal and strategic strengths,'' Cottee said.

"The appointment confirms QGC's ongoing commitment to the highest standards of corporate governance."

Anning is a chartered secretary, holding a bachelor of commerce, llb (hons), and a graduate diploma in applied corporate governance.

He has 17 years experience as a private practice lawyer dealing predominantly with commercial and corporate clients. Anning sits on the Queensland State Council of Chartered Secretaries Australia.

CLOUGH: The company has announced that Campbell Anderson will retire from the Clough board of directors, effective June 30. Emma Stein will be appointed to the board, effective July 1.

Anderson, who was appointed to the Clough board in September 2003, has worked with the board to consolidate the company's operations, reduce risk and dispose of non-core assets. During this time he has worked through the transition of the company from Clough family control to a majority shareholding by Murray & Roberts.

He has helped guide the company restructure that has seen it reposition itself for long-term oil and gas opportunities and supported the employment of a world-class executive team.

"This has resulted in the securing of several major contract awards and provides a very positive future for Clough," Clough chairman Mike Harding said.

"We now have a strong focus on the rapidly growing offshore oil and gas and onshore gas processing markets as well as mining and water infrastructure opportunities."

Emma Stein, who will replace Anderson, is an experienced non-executive director and audit committee chair serving on the boards of listed companies ARC Energy and

DUET (majority owners of the Dampier to Bunbury Pipeline).

"Stein brings a wealth of experience to the board with a comprehensive set of commercial skills in international energy and utilities markets," Harding said.

Stein has considerable experience with industrial customers, investments in long-life assets and projects, and the upstream oil and gas sector.

She was previously the UK managing director for French utility Gaz de France's energy retailing operations. In 2003 she moved to Australia and began a career as a non-executive director, taking up appointments in NSW Integral Energy and the Growth Centres Commission.

ADG GLOBAL SUPPLY: Supplier of consumables and equipment to the mining, oil and gas industries, ADG is pleased to announce that David Craig has been appointed to the board with immediate effect. Craig will act as an independent and non-executive director providing valuable expertise to the board.

Craig is an experienced businessman and lawyer, who has held executive and board positions in the fields of law, financial services and the resources industry.

As a partner of a major Perth law firm he specialised in resources and commercial legal advice, which included work on resources joint ventures, the acquisition and disposal of interests in companies and projects, and capital raisings by companies.

This was followed by 10 years in the financial services industry as a stockbroker and an executive director in a national stockbroking and investment banking company.

Craig then spent five years working with Woodside Petroleum in an executive position in the field of public and government affairs.

He brings to the board expertise in the law, financial markets, stakeholder engagement, relationship management, strategic planning, and risk management.

SYDNEY GAS: The company is pleased to announce the appointment of Garry O'Meally as an alternate director to Allan Campbell, and Tony Schultz as an alternate director to Raymond Fung, pursuant to Rule 50 of Sydney Gas' constitution. These appointments will remain in place until the next annual general meeting of Sydney Gas in 2008.
