Pressure and fluid sampling programs confirmed the cored section in which oil shows were noted do not contain commercial hydrocarbons.

Partner Australian Worldwide Exploration had said yesterday that preliminary results from initial logging indicate the oil shows seen in the cores might be residual oil saturations.

Dunsborough-2 is about 2km south of the Dunsborough-1 oil and gas discovery. The well is the final well of the three well programme in WA 286 P.

Participants in WA-286-P are: Roc Oil (operator) 37.5%, Arc 30%, and CIECO Energy 5%.
