BHP BILLITON: BHP Billiton Limited announces that on August 1, 2007 it purchased 500,000 ordinary shares of BHP Billiton Plc at an average price of 1404.7879 pence per ordinary share.

Following the above transaction, BHP Billiton Plc holds 24,910,000 of its ordinary shares as treasury shares and BHP Billiton Limited holds 29,361,714 of the ordinary shares in BHP Billiton Plc, for a total of 54,271,714 shares. The total number of BHP Billiton Plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held as treasury shares and shares held by BHP Billiton Limited) is 2,292,540,288.

BOSS ENERGY: Paladin Private Pension Fund became a substantial shareholder on June 30, with a voting power of 12.2%.

CARNARVON PETROLEUM: Edward Jacobson acquired 300,000 ordinary shares at 15.5 cents per share in on market trade on August 1. Following this transaction, he now holds, directly, 20,817,903 ordinary shares. Indirectly he now holds, 3,195,890 ordinary shares, 4 million 7 cent unlisted options expiring March 31, 2008, 4 million 10 cent unlisted options expiring March 31, 2009 and 600,000 ordinary shares

EASTERN STAR GAS: Hillgrove Resources Ltd increased its substantial shareholding to 22.92% on July 30.

EDEN ENERGY: The Goldman Sachs Group Inc on behalf of itself and its subsidiaries became a substantial shareholder on July 18, with a voting power of 5.20%.

OILEX: JPMorgan Chase & Co. and its affiliates decreased its substantial shareholding to 8.51% on July 30.

SANTOS: Barclays Global Investors Australia Limited on behalf of the Barclays Group decreased its substantial shareholding to 7.19%. Maple-Brown Abbot ceased to be a substantial shareholder on July 25.

TAP OIL: FMR Corp and FIL decreased its substantial shareholding to 6.48% on July 25.

Group of Tap Shareholders (GTS*) became a substantial shareholder on July 30, with a voting power of 5.49%. On July 31, GTS increased its substantial shareholding to 6.639%. * (GTS consists of : Mulloway Pty Ltd. Christopher Indermaur, Bond Street Custodians Ltd, G Ward and S Bertrand, Zap Nominees Pty Ltd, ATF the Jibber Trust, Murray King, Fatty Holdings Pty Ltd, Foeh Pty Ltd, Wyllie Group Ltd)

TOMAHAWK ENERGY: Michael Reed, who was appointed as a director on July 23, holds an indirect interest in 1.8 million ordinary shares and 1.5 million options. John Thompson, who was appointed as a director on July 23, holds an indirect interest in 750,000 ordinary shares and 312,500 options. Frank Brophy, who resigned as a director on July 23, retains an indirect interest in 26,000 ordinary shares.

VOLANT PETROLEUM: Volant advises that on July 26, Sky Energy Investment Limited (SEI) declared its offer to acquire all the fully paid ordinary shares in Volant, and any contracts formed by the acceptance of the offer, free from all defeating conditions.

As of July 26, SEI held a relevant interest in approximately 94% of the issued share capital of Volant.

SEI intends intention to proceed to compulsorily acquire all outstanding Volant shares, which it is entitled to do under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).

WOODSIDE PETROLEUM: Charles Goode, who retired as chairman on July 31, retains a direct interest in 2043 ordinary shares and an indirect interest in 110,122 ordinary shares, 21,457 ordinary shares, 87,876 ordinary shares, 31,676 ordinary shares and 15,000 ordinary shares.
