The Western Australian Industry and Export Awards are now in their 31st year, and cover products and diverse sectors from seafood and wine to innovative engineering equipment and technology.

This year Oilfield Technologies has been selected as a finalist for the CY O'Connor Award for Excellence in Engineering and Technical Design.

Oilfield Technologies has been operating for more than 20 years, based in Western Australia but providing services locally and internationally to oilers big and small.

The company includes Woodside Petroleum, Inpex, Chevron, Beach Energy and Buru among its list of regular clients.

The awards measure businesses against their peers based on the strength of their international growth, marketing and financial strategies.

Should the Oilfield Services win it could also be up for a separate national award.

The WA awards operate as a two-tier process: exporters first achieve state distinction through their local state and territory export award program, before those winners progress as national finalists and are benchmarked against peers across the country.

"The awards are an important showcase that highlights the remarkable achievements of Western Australian businesses, as well as the growing diversity in our State's economy," premier Mark McGowan said.

"These successful finalists are vital to creating jobs and diversifying Western Australia's economy."

The winners of the Industry Export Awards 2019 will be announced at a gala ceremony on September 23 at the Hyatt.
