Santos gas strength mitigates lower oil prices

SANTOS'S strong gas sales have offset the impact of lower oil prices though its first quarter 2009 revenue of $A540 million was still down 15% from the previous corresponding quarter.

The company reported average gas sales prices of $4.50 per gigajoule for the quarter, up 13% from 2008, while average realised oil prices were $A71.16 per barrel, 33% lower than a year earlier. Production...
