It added it has received a payment of $US3.5 million ($A4 million) for its 37,500 barrel share of the first shipment of oil from the field and that a further shipment of 300,000 barrels is expected around December 23.

Current output from the field is in line with original expectations of between 8000 and 10,000 bopd.

Oil from Oyong is produced via a wellhead platform with five oil wells and two gas wells, and is processed on the Sea Good 101 production barge and piped to the Shanghai floating storage and offtake vessel.

Participants in Oyong and the Sampang production-sharing contract are: Santos (operator - 45%), Singapore Petroleum (40%) and Cue (15%).
