New wells give significant boost to Worrior production

THE Worrior-5 and Worrior-6 development wells have added more than 2500 barrels of oil per day to...

“Production from these wells has increased total production from the Worrior oil field to around 3200 barrels of oil per day at a time of record oil prices,” Guglielmo said.

Worrior-6 is producing 2300 barrels per day on free flow from the McKinlay Formation oil pool, and Worrior-5 is producing 250bpd on pump, also from the McKinlay oil pool.

The two wells were successfully drilled in September after a detailed field study earlier this year indicated the potential for increases in production rates and in developed reserves.

Production rates will be monitored before completing an assessment of potential reserve additions.

Participants in both wells, drilled in South Australian Cooper-Eromanga Basin production licence PPL 207, are: Stuart Petroleum (operator and 70%) and Cooper Energy (30%).
