Beach said it was tying the well into the Callawonga oil field facilities, with production expected to start from next month.
After completing the Callawonga-2 for production, the rig will move to the north to drill the Callawonga-3 appraisal-development well.
Callawonga-1, which started production last November, was one of two 2006 oil discoveries during 2006 in PEL 92, in which Beach holds a 75% stake and Cooper holds 25%. The other is Silver Sands, found in May last year.
The PEL 92 partners are operator Beach Petroleum (75%) and Cooper Energy (25%).
