The Perth-based company said it was so far unable to forecast an anticipated production rate for Rocket-2.

"The gas flows to date have been erratic as equipment is being adjusted, the well is still cleaning up and expelling drilling fluids, and the pressure has been building," Burleson said.

"Current gas prices are $US6.80 (Henry Hub spot) to $US7.70 (Henry Hub future)."

On the weekend, the company was drilling the third well, Jet-3, ahead at a vertical depth of 8657 feet (2638m).

The company's first well in the region, Yegua Properties Unit-1, was connected to the sales line in July.
