Yesterday, Strike said initial test results indicated Webernick-1 on the Mesquite A Prospect was likely to perform similarly to Shefcik-1.
With perforating and fraccing now underway at Webernick-1, the company said final test results would be reported in two to three weeks once the well achieves a stabilised combined flow.
At the Mesquite B Prospect, Shefick-1 has increased production from 6 million cubic feet of gas per day and 158 barrels of oil condensate per day to 7.1 mmcfd and 170 bocpd, according to Strike.
The company said this rate could further increase once processing facilities and connection to additional sales pipelines are in place. Strike also plans to test further zones in Shefcik-1 in two or three weeks’ time.
Meanwhile, the Shefcik-3 well has drilled to a depth of 3200m and is currently setting 7 5/8-inch liner before drilling through the primary objectives that were productive in the adjacent wells.
After Shefcik-3 is completed, Strike plans to spud a Webernick-2 development well.
Strike said the Mesquite A and B prospects would be developed together due to their similarities and adjacent locations. They will now be jointly referred to as the “Mesquite Project”, it said.
In addition, production processing facilities capable of treating and delivering 17-20 million cubic feet of gas per day were now in place, Strike said.
The company expects current daily sales capacity of 8 million cubic feet will increase to 13 million cubic feet by mid-March, before reaching full sales by early April.
Strike is also in negotiations with operator Cypress E&P Corporation to increase its interest from 10% to 25% in future prospects generated in its ongoing Gulf Coast exploration project.
