“This result is an important step in confirming the commerciality of the discovery,” Strike managing director Simon Ashton said.
“More information will become available over the next week as the testing program continues.”
The gas is flowing to a sales pipeline at a restricted rate, due to the currently available pipeline capacity, Strike said.
Shefcik-1 was Strike’s first commercial discovery well since listing in August last year.
Upon announcing the discovery in December, Strike said development of the Shefcik prospect had the potential to generate net monthly revenues in excess of A$1 million.
The Shefcik prospect was estimated to contain a potential 10-15 billion cubic feet of recoverable gas, Strike said.
