ATP805’s Donga 3, which was confirmed as a discovery last November, became partner Bow Energy’s first commercial find as a listed company. Victoria Petroleum is the third joint venture partner.
Meanwhile, Rookwood West-1 in ATP608 was cased and suspended over a year ago. The Rookwood joint venture comprises Oilex, VicPet and private interests.
During the workover, this well will be converted into a dump flood injection well to increase reservoir pressure and enhance production from the Boxvale sandstone producing from the Rookwood South-1 well 750 metres east, Oilex said.
Interests in the Rookwood Block and ATP608P are Oilex (operator – 60.435%), Victoria Petroleum (29.69%) and private interest (9.875%).
Following the Rookwood West-1 workover, the rig will move to the Donga-3 well to next month undertake an extended production test, operator Oilex and partner Bow Energy said.
The oil-producing zone encountered on drill stem test will be perforated and a pump installed, the partners said.
Oil would then be produced into storage and truck loading facilities. Upon a viable flow rate, the joint venture would consider a full field development plan for the Donga field.
Both Oilex and Bow each hold a 42.5% interest in ATP805P, while Victoria Petroleum has the remaining 15%.
Bow Energy is also preparing its 2006 drilling program, which include plans to start operations in its Cooper/Eromanga Basin tenements in the second quarter.
In addition, the company says the proposed Hestia-1 well in Carnarvon Basin permit WA 261P has been delayed after operator Apache decided to only drill the well subject to technical work in progress.
