“The well has been turned to the sales system but has been restricted in it’s flow rate because of the high pressures being experienced in the sales line,” managing director Terry Barr said.
First gas sales were made last Friday, with the well flowing 750,000 cubic feet of gas per day for the past three days, Barr said.
Flowing tubing head pressures were also increasing as the well flowed back treatment fluid, he said.
As of last Sunday, the flowing tubing pressure was 1,400psi, up from 675psi on Friday.
“The initial rate of the Reynolds wells is in line with that achieved in the previous two wells and the expectation is that this will increase as the treatment fluids are recovered,” Barr said.
The fracture stimulation of Reynolds 1-23 completed the initial phase of the in fill development program.
Samson said the success of the three wells - Reynolds 1-23, Turner 4-14 and Hightower 1-23 - is promising for a sustained program, which could include a further 11 wells on Kestrel’s acreage.
