This acquisition means that Arc now owns both the processing plant and all production rights to the Dongara gas field, in the northern Perth basin.
Agility is under a two-year contract to operate the DPF, which processes about 13 terajoules of gas per day.
“The acquisition of DPF is something that has made a lot of sense for Arc for some time,” said Arc managing director Eric Streitberg.
“The cost savings that will arise from this purchase are an added benefit, but the ability to operate and manage the Dongara Gas Field is where the significant value lies.”
Streitberg said the company now owned, or had interest in, all of the basin’s processing facilities, as well the Hovea/Ermia, Woodada, Kyris and Mt Horner infrastructure assets, and non-operated interests in the Jingemia and Beharra Springs facilities.
Built in the 1970s, the DPF is the largest gas processing facility in the Perth Basin. It provides gas separation, dehydration and compression via four 1000hp gas turbine driven compressor units.
Situated on eight hectares also included in the purchase agreement, the facility also has a central control facility and workshops, condensate storage and load out facilities, as well as a water treatment and disposal system.
