The conference is also holding a new forum – an industry symposium on day four drawing in projects from the Tangguh LNG project in Irian Jaya to the expansion of the Alcan Gove project.
Conference organisers IIR said the symposium day will cover engineering, service & supply opportunities and planning and development for capital projects led by the Northern Territory government, while operators would cover a range of development projects.
David Clarkson, project director - Tangguh, BP Indonesia - will examine the latest developments on the Tangguh project, including the service and supply opportunities resulting from its commercialisation.
There will be a progress report on Methanol Australia’s Tassie Shoal gas project while Mike Collins, contract manager for the Clough AMEC joint venture, will present on managing the operational support and maintenance contract for the Bayu Undan offshore installation.
New developments and progress in important issues of industrial relations and native title in the Territory will be covered by Terry Adams, hydrocarbons manager, Australian Mines & Metals Association (AMMA) and Norman Fry, CEO, Northern Land Council.
There will be regional capital project updates from Compass Resources’ Browns Oxide project, Alcan’s Gove expansion project, and a case study on lessons learned from the project management of the Northern Territory Rail Project.
