Eni and Chiyoda secure fifth train contract

Under the terms of the agreement, the fifth train is expected to produce 4.7 million tonnes per annum of LNG. Production is slated for commencement in 2007 and Qatar’s North Field gas field will supply the natural gas.

This is not the first project the JV partners have done for RasGas II, having been granted the EPC for the third and fourth trains of the project, with the third train having been inaugurated in March. Train Four is currently under construction and is due to go online in late 2006.

RasGas II is a JV between Qatar Petroleum (70%) and ExxonMobil RasGas Inc (30%).
