Indonesia pushes for accelerated output

Indonesia’s oil and gas regulatory body, BP Migas, has revealed the Indonesian government will be urging oil companies in the country to speed up production at new fields.

Indonesia pushes for accelerated output

In a statement BP Migas deputy of operations Triana Kartoatmodjo said, “BP Migas will ask PetroChina Co to accelerate oil production in the West Batara, West Piano and Northeast Salawati fields, Total S.A. in the Tambora field, PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia in the Likan and Kelok fields, and ConocoPhillips in the Belanak field in order to meet [Indonesia’s] target for daily average output of 1.072 million barrels per day this year.”

“Indonesia’s daily crude oil output averaged 1.048 million bpd during the first six months of the year,” added Triana.

The country’s crude output has been declining in the past few years.
