This result means the consortium running the project has managed to meet the demands of its main customer: the Phu My electricity complex.
In a statement BP said, “The project has fully met the demand of the gas-fuelled Phu My electricity plant complex, including the Phu My electricity plant 2.1 and the expanded Phu My electricity plant 2.1 with a combined design capacity of 900 mW, the Phu My electricity plant 1 with a capacity of 1,090 mW, and the Phu My electricity plant 3 with a capacity of 716.8 mW.”
“By the end of this year, the 450 mW Phu My electricity plant 4 and the 715 mW Phu My electricity plant 2.2 will start using gas from the Nam Con Son gas project,” added BP.
The US$1.3 billion project includes investors UK’s BP Exploration and Operating Co, Vietnam’s state-run PetroVietnam, India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corp and US giant ConocoPhillips.
