The explorations and production director at the Oil/Gas Directorate General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Novian M. Thaib, put the blame on new fields not having reached optimal output.
According to Thaib, “Little could be done to raise production at this stage, as new oil fields were yet to deliver additional supplies.” He did add, however, that the production of crude oil, with the condensate included, pushed the January production figures to around 1.124 million barrels per day.
