The Shell-proposed and now Woodside-backed floating LNG (FLNG) concept is the front runner in the LNG construction race, although Phillips, who have already committed to the Bayu-Undan development, would prefer to see a pipeline constructed from their rig 500 kilometres offshore to a Darwin-based LNG plant.
Federal, State and East Timor Governments will be voicing their perspectives at what is shaping up to be a crucial time for the Australian gas industry, and comprehensive reports from key energy users and infrastructure developers including Epic Energy, CS Energy, Nabalco, Australian Pipeline Trust and Honeywell will most definitely add to the debate.
The conference will be held on June 17-19, at the Carlton Hotel in Darwin. Registration details are available at www.iir.com.au
