Indonesia said previously it only "expected" the agreement - under which oil giant BP plc will supply gas from the giant Tangguh field in the remote Papua province to a proposed terminal in Fujian.
"Pertamina and CNOOC will sign the gas sales agreement to supply LNG to Fujian on Thursday. We have already agreed on the price and for a period of 25 years," said Pertamina president director Baihaki Hakim.
Indonesia also said this week it may sign an initial agreement with China to build a $US1.77 billion, 1,100km natural gas pipeline between East Kalimantan and East Java. China may invest as much as $US300 million in the project, the Indonesia-China Energy Forum Secretariat said.
