Amity Oil International has signed a new contract for the Thrace Joint Venture to supply up to 7.9 million cubic feet of natural gas per day (223,300 cubic metres per day) to a private electric power generation plant, located in the city of Cerkezkoy, some 25 kilometres east of the Gocerler Gas Field.
Amity and its Turkish partner TPAO have agreed to transport the gas using the existing joint venture pipeline, connecting to part of the TPAO pipeline network. Amity said other than a connecting branch line into the customer's power plant, no additional pipeline will be required. "Installation of this branch line will commence shortly and delivery of gas is expected within two months," the company said.
The Gocerler Gas Field is owned by the Thrace Joint Venture, whose participants are Amity Oil International Pty Ltd, 50% (operator) and Turkiye Petrolleri AO (TPAO) 50%.
