Perforation work in prior years at Coonarah-1B and Coonarah-5 had produced metal parts in the well bores restricting gas flow rates. However, the work-over operation conducted over the last couple of weeks resulted in Coonarah-1B flowing at one million cubic feet/day and Coonarah-5 at 2.6 million cubic feet/day.

Up to now the sole customer, Wilga Park Power Station, has been consuming around 2.7 million cubic feet per day from all the wells in the field. The gas feed to the power station could now increase to 6.1 million cubic feet per day which would more than satisfy the full capacity of the 12x1 MW generators in place.

A work-over operation is now planned for Coonarah-4 which previously tested initial flow rates of three million cubic feet per day.
