Oman boosts LNG exports by 30%

Middle Eastern state Oman has announced a 30.5% increase in its 2003 LNG exports. According to data released by Oman LNG, the country exported around US$1.4 billion worth of LNG.

The revenue garnered from the exports accounted for 15% of the country’s total oil and gas income.

Oman LNG is a consortium which is majority-owned by the Omani government (51%). The other investors are Royal Dutch/Shell (30%), Total (5.54%), Korea LNG (5%) and Partex (2%), with the balance being held by Mitsui & Co, Mitsubishi Group and Itochu Corp.
