In a statement, published in the Indian media, the company said, “Gas from the huge D6 discovery off the east coast of India is expected to initially flow at up to 500 million cubic feet each day.”
“The first phase is estimated to cost about US$500 million. Reliance’s development plan includes production facilities, well tie-ins, proposals for buying land and prospects for gas sales,” added the firm.
Part of the proposal includes the construction of a 48-ince, 1,100 km pipeline from Kakinada to Uran, with an offshoot to carry gas from Hyderabad to Delhi. The pipeline is expected to cost US$1.5 billion.
