Delivery is expected to begin next year.
According to PLN director Ali Herman Ibrahim, “PLN has agreed with Amerada Hess on the gas price, which is set at $2.38 per million British thermal unit. Amerada will supply the gas from its offshore gas fields in East Java.”
In related news, PLN president director Eddie Widiono revealed, “[PLN will] open a tender in May or June to build a liquefied natural gas receiving terminal, which would supply gas for [our] power plants in West Java province.”
“The terminal is expected to be able to process LNG to become natural gas. Its capacity would be at 400 million cubic feet per day [but] it could be expanded to 800 million feet per day,” added Eddie.
