The usual issues of production quotas are expected to figure largely on the agenda after Nigeria flagged its desire to lift its oil exports. Another country to raise the issue of lifting production quotas is Algeria, after its Energy Minister, Chakib Khelil, said he wanted to lift its current oil production quota of 693,000 barrels per day. However, the energy minister has not cited a specific figure for the increase.
"We instructed our governor to negotiate the highest quota," Khelil said, adding that Algeria has the ability to produce 1.1 million barrels a day.
