CME appoints safety head

The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME) has appointed an executive officer for its Occupational Safety and Health division.

Ms Nicole Rooke takes up her new position on 30 June, where she will be responsible for coordinating industry-wide activities and initiatives, and facilitating communication within the resources sector on safety and health.

She will also liaise with and influence Government on safety and health regulation, programs, performance and cooperation, and coordinate the Occupational Safety and Health Standing Committee and regional activities.

Rooke was previously an Adviser, Health, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia. Prior to this, she was self employed as an employee health and rehabilitation consultant.

Rooke holds a Master of Science in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from the University of Western Australia, a Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology (Rehabilitation Counselling) and a Bachelor of Applied Science from Curtin University.
