Carnarvon said the well is now being brought into production with the contractor planning a new frac - this time using revised equipment - for mid-July.

In March, a well testing campaign to determine the potential of increasing oil production from the northern wells revealed severe 'skin damage' or migration of fine particles close to the well bore, restricting oil flow.

An operation to stimulate the WB-N2 well via a skin bypass frac was carried out last week.

Carnarvon told the exchange that the SIWA Joint Venture, which consists of Carnarvon (40%) and Pacific Tiger Energy (60%-operator), remains confident that current processes are capable of substantially improving production rates.
