Valdez case drawing to a close

THE legal war over the infamous 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill off Alaska could be drawing to a close after a US federal appeals court reaffirmed the punitive damages of $US507.5 million ($A643 million) and the payment of interest dating back to 1996.
